Services Offered - The Speech Bubbles Journey

At Speech Bubbles we keep the process of accessing our service as simple as possible and we keep your child at the forefront.

Please note, a child cannot be seen without parental consent. 

This is the first point of contact between the adult concerned about the child and the speech and language therapist. The referral allows the speech and language therapist ("SLT") to determine which types of service would be most suitable.

We offer assessment and therapy for a wide range of conditions and difficulties, including ASD, selective mutism, speech sound disorders, difficulties using or understanding spoken language, stammering as well as a range of social communication disorders. 

The SLT uses the assessment to identify your child’s specific difficulties and the impact that these have on all your child’s daily activities. 

A range of standardized and informal assessments are used for assessment as appropriate. 

After the assessment, the SLT will spend time with parents and other professionals to discuss goals and aims of therapy as well as the different types of therapy delivery available. 

The following are the core aspects of all of our interventions:

Person-centred therapy – you and your child are always at the forefront of the therapy process.

Holistic approach – when planning and delivering therapy the SLT considers more than just the difficulty your child is experiencing, but also its impact of the difficulty on your child at home, academically, socially and emotionally.

Motivating therapy sessions – We base our therapy activities around your child’s interest and motivations, this makes children more interactive with the therapy sessions and motivated to take part.

Therapy sessions can take place at home, in school or at our clinic space in HA8 depending on convenience.  We are DBS checked.

We constantly review your child’s progress, this allows us to tailor the therapy we deliver, to make the greatest positive impact. At the end of therapy we will evaluate your child’s skills to measure the progress they have made and identify achievements and next steps.

After your child has improved their skills to the best of their ability and you are happy with the progress they have made your child is ready for discharge from our SLT service with all the assessments and report writing completed.

When a child is discharged you can always re re-refer your child for therapy at any time or if you would like to discuss any concerns with out SLT please don’t hesitate to be in touch with us here at Speech Bubbles.
